Title: D&D at the Summer LAN?
Post by: Czar on June 08, 2010, 06:22:15 PM
At the July 24-25 Summer LAN, I'm very willing (and excited) to offer a SHORT D&D session for 5 players.

For those of you that played a session with me last time, this will NOT last that long at all. That session was like what...8 hours? This will be a 2 hour session with 3 combat encounters and some roleplay.

I will provide all materials unless players have their own stuff they want to bring.

You do not need ANY D&D experience to play. I`ll be more than happy to teach you along the way. I have several visual aids that can make the learning process painless.

If I have more than 5 people that want to play, I'll just run more than one session.

Well if Agent didn't fall asleep, and Charlie could actually talk, and Mark and I weren't being asshats it never would have taken that long.  I am interested though in joining in on the activities again.

Excellent! Any clue what kinda characters you want to play? I have the official D&D character builder I can use to whip something up if you give me a loose guideline.

I will take a Minotaur Barbarian leaning to Chaotic Good

*facepalm* You got it. The barbarian is a wonderful class though. VERY powerful. They have these powers called Rages where they get all pissed off and do EPIC damage. I`ll post a char sheet later today.

Is this gonna be done friday or Saturday?

Most likely saturday during the day/afternoon.

face palm o.O if you want, we could limit it, just post the race/class limits and we can go from there.

MINOTAUR!!! TASTE THE BEAST!!!!
Title: Re: D&D at the Summer LAN?
Post by: Czar on June 09, 2010, 01:49:18 PM
Nah it`ll be fun to see the minotaur in action. Just make me laugh to think of the party running around with a minotaur on board. Too bad this isn't a longer campaign as it would make for some very interesting group dynamics and how the townsfolk would receive you.

Post by: Czar on June 09, 2010, 03:26:39 PM
Here's the text for the adventure we`ll be doing.

Quote
The necromancer Tal Lorvas has unearthed an underground tomb that dates back to the height of the ancient  iefling empire. Lorvas has been terrorizing the surrounding lands with his vile experiments, and now he hopes to find a ring, hidden in the tomb, that is tied to a ritual he wants to perform by the rise of the next full moon.

The PCs must enter the tomb of Empress Nemeia, deal with the servants of the necromancer, and confront Tal Lorvas before he can claim the ancient relic and move one step closer to ultimate power over the undead.

I'd like to play; I have a few years of 3.5 experience.  I've always played a rogue, but it might be nice to try out something else.

I used to play a long long freaking time ago. I am talking in the 80's with the girls down the street in the basement of their parent's house.

Other than that, just watching you guys play a few times at lans.

Okay. In case people want to play more, I've lined up another very short dungeon. This one is a bit more involved as it has some things to try to figure out, some traps, and what not. The original adventure does too but this one is a bit more... i dunno.. .fun? that and I've played it a few times before so I'm familiar with it. So .. I`ll give the group a chance to vote on which map they want first? The story line for this second map is:

Quote
Two young boys have gone from their home in the middle of the
night, and their father, a silversmith named Quinn Stasi has
come to you for help.
Though he does not know who has abducted his sons, or the
reasons why, thanks to a ritual casting procured from the local
temple of Erathis, he knows the boys are alive, in the area, and
that their current location is in the direction of the Shadowhaunt
Mausoleum, an ancient tomb of some long forgotten line of
warlords avoid by the locals and believed to be haunted.
He has offered you 50 gp each to investigate the
Shadowhaunt Mausoleum, and an extra 50 gp each if they find
his boys ...or their fate.

We can do both if the group wants, same characters and all that if you're down with it. As in ya return to town, spend the night (to refresh spells) and then this happens.

Thoughts?
