Title: CS:GO Yay or Nay
Post by: Twinsfan85 on April 25, 2012, 07:40:07 PM
Don't wanna turn this into the BF3 thread (you know what I'm talking about). Just trying to get a feel for how many people will be getting this around the time is comes out. I know most if not all of you were at one point avid CS player but have developed a hatred of it over the past few years. I'm hoping to get back into it with GO. Already have my own 20 slot server pre-ordered through gameservers.com that I'll probably use for FITES assuming there is interest in the group.

At this time, I'm just not interested.

I've played the beta and it's just too much like CS:S. I was hoping this would be the `new` and `interesting` CS that I was reading about months ago but it just seems to be a light overhaul of CS:S.

It's just not for me right now.

a light overhaul of CS:S.

Which is itself just a light overhaul of CS 1.6 (classic). Never been a fan of CS of any variety. The only reason I have a copy is because it came with HL2. If it was standalone, I'd never buy it. I don't know if I don't like it solely because of the game itself (though that's a large part of it), it's mostly the asshats in the community that ruin the experience (same with Xbox Live). Yes, there are decent people that play CS, but for every one of them there are another five+ that are asshats.

I wonder what the 1.6 kids will think about it.  They have stuck to a 11 year old game and will be two releases down at this point.
