Yahoo! Games now offers the promised demo for Call of Duty 4: Modern Combat, Infinity Ward's upcoming military shooter sequel (thanks Steve). A free Yahoo! Games account is required to access the download, which has not yet shown up on other sites. Update: The lack of mirrors may be due to problems with this at the moment, as people are reporting getting incomplete downloads.

i myself couldn't get this dload to work

it's finally dloaded and im installing as i type this.  To my surprise UT3 is also dloaded im just waiting for them to unlock it so i can see what it looks like...woohoo!!!!

I tried to install it last night but it said it was a invalid win32 application. :(

I got it installed and the UT3 Demo is about 4 min from being done!

Filefront guys...it's the best place for dl'ing demos and patches...I dl'd Fear in 17 min..Normally get 700-800KB a dl and no waits...Gotta love it

Played through the entire CoD4 demo...Was very impressed. AI is extremely smart for those who haven't tried it yet. I played it with the 2nd from hardest and died a good bit. AI blind shooting and taking cover makes it very difficult to get shots off. And they appear to be fairly accurate at shooting as well. You cant run and gun in CoD 4...u gotta take cover under cars or whatever or your be dead quick. Along with the AI, they made neat improvements to the game (the entire night vision mode is really sweet looking..The ray of lights u see from ppl shooting and such from it makes it very realistic)

Thing I didn't care for as much would the map/navigation setup. There is a nav at the bottom for your objective. No more map system though to show where everyone's shooting. The HUB is ok, but def a little different from any of the other CoD's out there. Overall it's a great demo though and worth the 1.2GB of HD space. I'm very excited to see it come out. With all these great demos coming out (CoD, Fear and UT) I've been gaming demo after demo nonstop... It's been an awesome day. I wanna hear what everyone else thinks about it...so post it up
