Just saw Cloverfield today. Without giving away too much info(what little there is to give away), I'll just say that it was fantastically done. It was brilliant in its execution. And it was exceedingly unique. One thing I realized when I got home... there was no music score at all. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Zip.
Bloody brilliant. I'm tempted to go see it again. I'd highly recommend it.

Excellent. I saw the trailer last year for it, and it looked amazing, but I just wasn't sure if it was $8.00 on a Saturday night amazing. Maybe I'll hit up the late showing tonight
-
I just got back from seeing it. I really enjoyed it. I did feel like it did not give good closure, but that is as far as I will go.
-
Yeah, I'd have to agree with that one... tho I won't go in to details, since it would be a spoiler.
-
I heard that on that aspect alone we should expect a sequel. I may go see this film today.
-
From the tv trailers I have seen all I know is it's about people, in japan, and something big rampages through the city....it could be a godzilla movie for all I know....I hate when they do that with trailers.
-
it's not godzilla and it's NYC not japan... The main character just got a job in japan and he's celebrating before he leaves fo japan and thats when all the crap happens. but yea i haven't seen it yet but i can't wait!!!!

PI guess I should'nt smoke so much crack in the evenings =oP

na, it wasn't meant as sarcasm or anything. I was just stating what i knew thats all.
-
Wow... I think dave might be picking up on some of my bad corrective habits.
-
haha you taught me well my master!!!!

bah, I know sarcasm when I hear, err...., read it
P.S. that was sarcasm =oP

yo i just got a screener of cloverfield dloaded and i started watching it. thats one ugly mofo.
-
Oh man dave you shouldn't have downloaded it. This is one movie I actually refuse to download. I am going to see it in the theaters again, and if I do watch the movie at home, it will have to be in HD on a 42" with surround sound. I refuse to watch it any other way.
Heh, in fact... the more I talk about this movie with friends, the more I see I only have one gripe about it. But I can't consider it a gripe since it is completely irrelevant to the enjoyability of the movie. I just know that I want a hand-held video recorder THAT durable.
-
well i originally thought that i would only watch it in hd and on the big screen but the entire movie is shot on a jerky video cam so im thinking what good would it be to watch it in HD.
-
Hehe, Well it is still filmed in HD... being that is made in handy cam mode doesn't change that. It's still pretty worth the Hi Def viewing. AND the 5.1

It kind of gave me a headache. i was actually a little disappointed in the movie. Good story, just not delivered right....
-
To each his own I guess =/
-
Yea i was watching the responses of people coming out of the theater on opening night on the news and about 75% loved it but like 25% hated it. so it's either a love or a hate type film.

Downloading is bad...Shame on you Dave :tongue2:
-
yes i know. But i just couldn't resist. I haven't watched it yet. I think I may take Jordans advice and wait for it to come out on dvd and rent it and burn it....oh wait thats bad too....Guess im just going to hell.
