check out the demo.  It's kinda short for almost 2 gigs but man does it look good and it plays very smooth even on my old comp.  Now i see what all the hype is about.

What are the specs?, I would like to try it out. And if I do I will buy it like after Christmas or something. I have a 7800gs will that do?

hell yea.  It runs everything on high on my rig and i have a amd4000+ and a 7900gtx.  looks great and runs really smooth.

I preordered BioShock last night and started playign it this evening. Absolutely incredible game. It has already outscored HalfLife 2 in the reviews.... and I can definitely see why. Holy Sh!t.

Audio/Music: 10/10

Environment: 10/10, extremely immersive.

Gameplay: welll it's a hell of a lot better than I was expecting. Many devs have claimed their FPS as being non-linear... Irrational Games nailed it here. it's still linear, but oh so open as well.

F*ck reviewing the rest of it. The game is kickass. Play it. The demo only offers a very very very small bite. The game... arg! Stop reading this post and play the damn thing already. For that matter, what am I doing typing this....

O no doubts man I know it kicks ass, the game is absolutely gorgeous. The water effects alone did it for me. So you just have to activate it if you purchased it through steam? I know they had some issues on launch day with steam, people complained over a couple of hours because it wasn't available that very second.

I played about 10 minutes of the demo on 360....it looks amazing.  From the opening crash scene, I didn't realize it was realtime until I moved the controller.  Can't wait to play it some more.

I see my computer is slightly above the minimum requirements except I don't have a sound card (onboard sound). I'll give it a go and see how it handles.

The game runs surprisingly well on my system. I have all of the graphics maxed out... I have post processing off, 1024x768 no AA/AF .... it runs at a steady 25+ walking around and dips down to 15-ish in large battles.

6800GT 256 AMP
3200+ A64
1.5gb ram

Yeah, I am pleasantly surprised. I can play a game at 15fps at the very least(my friend thinks I'm insane, but I am used to having low-end hardware pretty much 90% of the time). So yeah, if it runs this well on my crappy hardware, an 8800 and core2 should be smooth as hell.
