Title: Because responses to this would actually be helpful to others.....
Post by: vincegun on August 12, 2009, 12:50:44 PM
I'm looking to dump a mobo that no longer works. I'm also looking to dispose of it in a more appropriate way than just throwing it in with the rest of the trash in the house. Are there any electronic recycling programs in/near York that I can take advantage of?

Look at this as a way to promote Fites as a leading supporter of your local eco-friendly recycling program! ...... or something. Dammit, I want another soda.

Since we have some others here from non-York areas, I`ll suggest:

http://www.freegeekpenn.org/

They even give you a free system for helping tear down old comps.

I used to have several DOA motherboards. I put an ad on Craigslist in the free section. Had a guy come get them up. You could try giving them to teachers to use as teaching tools. There is a guy in Harrisburg who runs a organization called RebootPa. I only have a email for him though.

There is a recycling place here in Tyrone too.  www.reclamere.com  They charge you to drop stuff off though.  Kind of makes it not worth it in my eyes.

OMG JESSE! ROFLCHOPPER what a douche...thats freakin halarious

Yeah, i'd rather take lighter fluid and burn my DoA mobo, pound it into oblivion with a sledge then pick up the pixie ashes and dump them over the 30 bridge before I give it to him. He's just going to do the same thing you are so u might as well save the gas money. Plus talk to him for 5 sec about computers and you'll see how much of a fake this guy really is...what memory has clock speeds? He's a joke case in point
