Well after playing it for a solid 2 hours... DAYUM. Ran smooth even with grfx blasted to the max. But god... the gameplay, oh the gameplay. *twitch* The choppers even feel like DC!

My impressions are indescribable. short from a single, long orgasm of battlefield pleasure.

What you think you're doing? friggin go download it already! im psyched for the lan even more than i was before.

EDIT: after prolonged play i can tell you its much different than the previous battlefields, but in a good way. a very very good way. they definitely pushed on the teamplay factor which makes it feel so much more strategic.

the controls are a tad sticky... like i'd hold down w for a bit then let go and i'd still move forward a few steps before stopping but it only happens occasionally. not sure what that is.

choppers and planes are suprisingly easier to fly than i wouldve thought, yet still leaving you with a great sense of control.

the grfx are supreme. Had some glitches with the dynamic shadowing. turning it off fixed it quite well hehe.

oh and the bot AI.. oh my. muuuuuuuuch better than the previous BF titles. Its actually enjoyable.

Welp.. thats all i can tell you atm. just download it. dont listen to me about my impressions. go make your own.

The slowdown walking thing is by design. I believe I read that somewhere or saw it in one of the demo videos. Realistically you don't run at a sprint and then come to a sudden stop, there is a slow down period.

So....yeah. That's all I have to say about that.

And that I'm going to d/l it now myself. Didn't realize the demo was out either.
Please just walk away. I don't want to have to stand here and say something so awesome that I'll have to remember it the rest of the day. Thank you!

is it a known problem with win2k?

edit: after some googleing it says it isn't compatible, it gave me a warning when installing it, but let me continue.

Might be time to backup and install xp64

yet another edit: this linux thing seems nice though, but not quite enough for a main desktop rig

I'm actually making a machine for my room (lil axp1700 w/6gb hdd and some ram) that I plan on putting linux on as a music/im/email box. Just to get more familiar with it in a desktop enviroment. But i'm teatherd to too many windows only apps to consider using linux as my primary desktop rig. (yet for some reason i'm looking at a mac)
