Title: August/September Desktop
Post by: Agent4054 on August 25, 2006, 11:45:19 AM
Here we go again. I decided to post this since I've sepnt the past 4 days spripting my latest BBInterface from scratch, with the exception of the BlackAmp 4 frame, which had significantly less buttons and was verticle... which I obviously changed. I'm about 80% done so far. I just need to add icons and button functions to the left SideBar. So here it is (clickable thumbnail):

Post your own desktop(s)!

UPDATE: Im just about done. I figured out how to attach the clock to the sidebar frame, and am currently adding function to the buttons. I just need to figure out how to display text vertically on labels, and I'm done.

UPDATE 2: I've decided to start making a FITES BBInterface   :2thumbsup:
Stay tuned.....

Hehe, since ive uploaded that screenshot, ive revamped the art style somewhat. I'm going for an art deco-ish look =)

Actually, I just figured out something earlier today that will give me the ability to make my BBI to look so damn nice. TCL, Tool Command Language. Tres'ne made a nice plugin called tcl4bb. If you download the tcl libraries and TWAPI for use with the plugin, it presents SO much more felxibility and enhancements its crazy. I'm no programmer, but it's easy enough to pick up on.

I'll update my post when I get something cool going.

Isn't that more like duotone? (red + black = 2)

My desktop hasn't changed in months, it's really quite sad.

i guess, lol, my style recently for DTP stuff (in class) has been doing that with a pic, then using a lighter shade of the color for text and stuff, so it's mostly monotone ;D

Hehe, there ya go. Now you're getting the idea :2thumbsup:

It doesn't seem all that crowded to me. If I could figure out what to do with the blank space on mine, I'd surely fill it up with controls and frames. I need to learn how to use tcl a bit more tho. I have tons of ideas just don't know how to implement them yet.

Oh, and was experiemtning in faking out BBI to get rounded frames. I think theres prolly an easier way to do this, but this is what ive come up with:

Create a frame of the size you want on the desktop. And make it the max size that you have the edges go to. Screenshot it, crop out the frame(all you need is the size, you could prolly just create a new photoshop project with the size that you made the frame as i guess). From there I went around the edges of the cropped frame with the eraser to get it transparent. Had to make sure it was totally unfeathered or else is screwed up in BBI. I got the corners roughly rounded, and saved the .png(gotta make sure it is png). So from there you add the immage to the fame, and then in that fram you set the style as "none" and there you have it. A rounded frame that is NOT resizable in real time ><

Apparently, the BBI creator, psyci, is working on adding rounded corners to a future build.

Whoa F3ar0n, am I seeing that right? Your hard drive temp is 255!?!? Hahaha...that's a bit high!

FYI, hard drive temp shouldn't exceed the 120-130F range.

wow..I never would of even thought of doing that Agent..That sounds sweet. I'll have to config it. Oh and I def didn't set the value for that hd temp right. Had to have mixed it up with free ram value or something. I'll have to check that out...Otherwise my hd is melting as i type.
