After I got burned on Doom3 and Master of Orion3, my policy is pirate first and buy if its good. You gotta support the good games :)

This is sorta amusing as I'm "trying" Hitman Blood Money right now.

I'm like Dwg though, if I like it, I'll buy it. I steal music more than games though. People who have seen my big 500 slot folder knows that I end up buying a good bit of games (mainly because I wanna have the online experience)

Games that I know I want I buy.  Mainly online games. But for the single player experiences I tend to usually 'acquire' first and pay for later if I want it that bad.  For example (and a bad one at that) Flat Out and Flat Out 2.  If I were to have purchased them first I would have been pissed after about two hours due to the game being so damn repetitive.  I do like the games for a 15 minute diversion but I am certainly glad I did not buy them.  If the game is good enough, i will buy it.  Now If I would have applied that philosophy to BF2142....hopefully the bugs will be ironed out in future patches.
