Title: Anyone down for a D&D session at the 150 man lan?
Post by: Czar on January 19, 2009, 02:14:57 PM
Here's the deal yo. At the 150 man lan, we have some scheduled "free play" time where no tourneys are slated at all. I`m looking for 5 players to run a short table-top session at the lan. I will supply a 20 sided die to each player as i think that's all we`ll need.

You don't need to have ANY D&D experience at all. A pre-generated character sheet will be provided to you that is -very- easy to read and find info on. You do not need any D&D books or materials as I`ll have everything you need. No preparation on your end required. Just about 3 hours of fun!

For those that have experience and want to play, that's fine too! Beware that we`re using the 2008 Worldwide D&D Game Day adventure, so if you already played it, well..we're playing it again. :)

As stated, I need 5 players. Here are the available classes. Claiming them is on a first come, first serve basis. Please respond to this thread stating you want to play and which character you want. I`ll update this thread to show who is playing an which char they took

Althaea Gildleaf - Female Eladrin Wizard
Desand Quickfoot - Male Half-Eld Rogue (ShadowWX)
Durgen Darksteel - Male Dwarf Fighter
Evon Of Pelor - Male Human Cleric (Rathe)
Kelric - Male Human Fighter (IrishDevil [Mahoney])

If I have more than 5 players interested, I`ll consider doing another session based on time.

Quote
Quinn Stasi, a silversmith, is distraught and desperate. His two young sons, Darras and Byron went missing three days ago and Quinn believes they were kidnapped. A widower whos two young sons are the most  important things in his life, Quin immediately set his mind and his money on finding his sons.

After the rather inept local constabulary seemed unable to help, Quinn bought a Hand Of Fate ritual casting from the local temple of Erathis, the goddess of cities and and law. Through some carefully worded questions the silversmith found that his sons were still alive and in the direction of the Shadowhaunt Mausoleum. His next step was to find a group of adventurers willing to search the area for his sons.

I'll do it

doesn't matter which character either except I'm not big on clerics.

if a cleric is that good then it doesn't matter what I play.

Yeah that's a 4th edition spell. Its a `Daily` though meaning you can use it once a day. The cleric isn't a wimpy healer anymore.  Almost all of their spells do damage as well as give near by allies a chance to heal themselves.

Hey Czar, do you ever run any Shadowrun games?

Unfortunately, I haven't. There are some really good RPG games that I would love to play/dm. Shadowrun looks great too. I'm really itching to GM a FireFly RPG campaign though...just need time and players. Got the materials.

For those playing, do you have any of your own dice? I'm quite certain Mahoney doesn't but what about ShadowWX and Rathe?

As I have noted in another thread.  I am not geeky enough to have my own dice.  I will have to bum off of someone else.  Or I need to create a program to roll dice automatically for me.  I think I could put one together on my TI-85.

I`ll be bringing dice for those that need them, to keep.

I would still like to participate but after looking over the schedule I may not have time.  If you don't mind I will play it by ear when we are at the venue.
