This just reminds me of when I was living in Williamsport, PA and going to college. I was in an accident at like 6am in the morning, and my drivers side window got busted out. I covered it with plastic and parked it outside of my house, so I could figure out what to do with it. Later that night I lost my $1200.00 stereo system. I filed a police report, which did nothing because I didn't have serial numbers written down for my equipment. To make matters worse, someone broke into my car AGAIN in the morning and stole my parking pass, a few packs gum, and an almost empty bottle of cologne.
I was in a similar situation with the insurance, as I only had collision coverage. The insurance adjuster told me that nothing inside my car could be claimed, and even if it could be I would have had to show proof that any electronics that were missing were "BOLTED" into the car. Meaning that my 15" sub and sub box would have had to be bolted to the trunk of my car. Long story short, I would have had to claim the stuff was stolen out of my house to get it covered. My car got wrecked (which ended up costing me $2200.00 out of pocket), and then my stereo got stolen. All in all it was a great week.
