A replacement for Quake arena /UT
« on: June 12, 2012, 07:24:22 PM »
So while randomly poking around Steam I found a game called NEXUIZ. It is a fast paced arena shooter biased on the Cry Engine 3. It has LAN PLAY as a main menu option. It is a interesting 10 dollar game.

Link to steam store and vid below.

I think this needs to be added to the weekend rotation.

Played this for a little while at a friends house. Not a bad game but it would be nice to see bigger matches since it is limited to 4v4. As much as I would like to see another  :hail: "Quake 3" this game just isn't it IMO.  :'( I just can't see it generating the big community; however, there is always a chance I am wrong and I hope I am. I will be sticking to Tribes for my fast paced shooter action. If you play or would like to try/get into it feel free to add me on Steam and join me in the Teamspeak as I am looking for people to play. Just seems like the fast paced twitch community is not coming back. No one is interested in fps games that have a steep learning curve anymore.

I dont get it.  How do you make a good game, with good graphics, and good game play.  100 Mutators, even has dedicated servers.  Then limit it to 4v4?  Why?

I was about to press the buy button until I saw 4v4.  Lame.  Especially since I'm a dedicated server whore.  I bet the 4v4 limitation is on the server.  If the game is popular enough, maybe it will get modded?
