will the developer kit be wireless?

You are kidding right? How's that wireless monitor?
I thought I read somewhere that was the goal. yea here it is in the wiki:

The Oculus Rift Kickstarter campaign seeks to get the initial Oculus Rift HMD into the hands of developers, to allow them to integrate their games with the device. A consumer-oriented 'Oculus Rift 2.0' is in the works, and will be aimed at a general market and feature improved components. Improved head tracking, weapon tracking, increased resolution, and wireless operation are some of the features under consideration for the Oculus Rift 2.0.[22] Palmer Luckey has said that such a Head-mounted display (HMD) should be possible in 2014.

I don't think wireless will be possible. The latency would just be way too high.

Maybe,  I was just stating what I read.  Found another link with a quote from Palmer himself stating it.  http://www.tested.com/tech/108110-oculus-rift-devkit-vr-goggle-preorder-is-on-kickstarter/

They'd be pretty Luckey to get it to work well with wireless.

I think wireless is entirely possible. Look how the Wii U integrates having its own screen while someone else plays on the tv. The fact of them already reducing the latency down as much as they have shows they possibly have some wiggle room in getting wirless operations, and would almost need to in order to get as immersive an experience as they want.
Eventually something cool will go in here. It's a matter of time.

WiiU wireless is 1ms as stated by Ubisoft (Rayman) devs. It's also running on 802.11N. I've sat and played/watched Mario on the bigscreen while using peripheral vision to keep my eye on the gamepad screen. IF you know what you're looking for, you see the barely noticeable lag. If not, the tv and gamepad screens are pretty much in sync with each other.

This was actually one of the first things I actively looked for after I booted it up, updated and played the new shiny Mario game. I really wanted to see how well the gamepad held up and it did pretty damn well.

Got my account back. Apparently I was accused of hacking by a number of people. They reviewed the logs and found nothing suspicious about my high scores and kills. Nubs need to learn what dual AC20's can do to their face if they come at me o.O
