IGN's list of summer games to watch out for.

The spring months weren't exactly full of treasures. While games like Lord of the Rings Online, STALKER, C&C 3, and the Oblivion expansion Shivering Isles gave us considerable thrills we were left wanting. In many cases it's been that games were pushed back to summer, fall or winter so we're now starting to see firmer promises of release dates.

There's a couple of heavy hitters in there like BioShock and Crysis and plenty of other titles that might not have as large a presence but are deserving of attention nonetheless like BlackSite: Area 51, Stranglehold, and World in Conflict. We're really surprised by the huge number of action titles with serious potential, especially considering that there are even more due out in fall. It's sad, but there's likely to be a lot of cannibalization of revenue over the next few months because there are so many awesome looking titles headed our way.

These summer months are going to start out a bit slow, but they're going to begin ramping up towards the end of September with some great games that will start the cavalcade of fall titles that will inevitably come crashing down on our heads. You'll find a list of some of the biggest titles due out this season but it's by no means a full list. There are sure to be some surprises headed our way. Read on and please, if you have any questions regarding this title or any others, write in and we'll try to answer your questions in the mailbag.
