ATI has a sugar daddy in AMD now so I expect them to make a big pass over Nvidia. My only question is, will Nvidia be able to hold on with its amazing rep vs ATI. We could see Intel make a move towards Nvidia down the road if they're unable to keep up!

I really should not have been shocked, but I admit that i was... how Nvidia fell asleep when they released the 8800GTX and the Ultra.  For ~1.5years they sat fat and happy with their buggy 680i chipset and humongous 8800gtx and apparently only had die shrinks in the pipeline.  All the while AMD finally released the horribly underperforming 2900 series and continued to crank out better and better gpus.

Can't wait for true competition again.  If intel ever puts their hat in the ring as they've been promising for a long time, the more the merrier.
