FN's Nyan cat is animooted!
-
It is! But it occasionally glitches out the redstone.

A little house won!? :'( grrr. Next year I will build a 6x6 shack with no windows, LoL. :'(

I voted for the Kitty but it was hard to not vote for the kamayamaya dong o.O

With all the free time I had pacing around the place anxiously awaiting the BF3 tournament all weekend I should have built something. I would have liked to see more structures, rather than all flat... "pictures" ?
Nonetheless they all looked pretty cool.
I timelapsed L34H doing her thing. Check it out:

Nice video. L34H had a very nice setup, very official looking. I think the method of judging based on screenshots lends itself to 2d spirte art winning, but apparently the winning entry was something that I could never actually *find* on the map. I'm waiting for Shoctor to post the map so I can actually see that entry in 3d.
(Plus, I *did* build a working structure! My pistons were rotating a 12 x 2 series of blocks to simulate animation! For science!)

UPDATE! Top post has a link to the world file for you guys!
-
For the record, I downloaded the world file and ceremonially dynamited any dong-containing entry.
I'm in agreement with Fn--I think perhaps if we do this again, we should do judging based on a FRAPS video or something so that 3D objects and redstone circuit constructions are easier to judge fairly.

I can agree that somethings need to be different... This was our first time doing such a tournament.
I also threw out a suggestion to some of the staff that we could also limit the size of the area to work in and put it on a grid so people can walk around your creations. But that would mean keeping them fairly close together.
-
I also wouldnt mind seeing it stay day time.
