Post by: sully! on March 15, 2011, 09:04:34 AM
Homefront (http://http://www.homefront-game.com/) is released today and features our beloved local LAN support! Show your support for local LAN play by picking up what looks to be a fantastic game from Steam ([steamstore]55100[/steamstore]), GameStop (http://www.gamestop.com/pc/games/homefront/78028?loc=homefrontba), or wherever your usual fragging hole may be.

Game on!

yea trying it out this morning.  seems to run a lot smoother then badco2.  has a different feel then badco2.  Im excited about the aln server support! woohoo!!!!!!

**update**
I just played on a almost full server and it really dropped my fps and was getting a little choppy at times.  which never happens on badco2.

Played it last night at 12:20am. Was a lot of fun. Feels like a mix of CoD4 and BC2. Gonna own some n00bs tonight.

You can still start your own server from within the game's MP menu.  It may not be dedicated, but it's something at least.

Homefront is so horrible bad that I have given up preordering anything.

I played through again, and the rails are so bad, you cant walk anywhere they don't want you to.  Areas that are clearly not locked by anything are impossible to walk to.  If you aren't even close to a scripted event it still happens.

The story is pathetic, these blackout events are complete bullCrap.   This game is complete bullCrap.

I recall a video where some guy is interviewed and he said they had a small team of people working on the pc version so it would actually be really good and not just another port.

Guess he was wrong, judging by the responses here.

yea i saw that interview too and he was way off.  maybe it was interviews like that that gave us the wrong expectations.

Much like trailers for movies and games, the end result is rarely as good as the trailer makes it out to be.

Multiplayer isn't horrible.

I rarely play the single player mode of games. Really I'm just in it for the MP. Never played the SP for CoD4, Battlefield anything. Doom 3 was the last SP I played and i agree with Decepticon, Homefront MP isn't horrible.

"While THQ is spinning it as “a strategic realignment within its internal studio structure,” the truth of the matter is that lead Homefront developer, Kaos studios in New York, will be closed. Sources confirm to us that the employees have been officially informed."
