Title: Grab your C4 and helicopter pilot's license, it's BF3 time
Post by: MahoneyRed on September 03, 2013, 10:41:36 AM: Game night this Friday will be Battlefield 3! The guys at Vitality Gaming still have a server they were using at our Summer LAN, so let's get some play time out of it.

The maps are all stock so no need to worry about any expansion packs. Same time as always, around 9 p.m. on Friday night. Be sure to hang out in the TeamSpeak with us.

I for one have every intention of being an absolute C4 whore. Unfortunately I suck at sneaking up on things so this could be a one way ticket to the failboat.

A lot of that was back when one of the extended mag upgrades for the RPK was something like 200 rounds in a single mag change instead of a belt. I was laying down fire like a fiend with that.

Sadly that was patched and changed. But I still prefer the support class. Right now I use the G36MG. Not as hard hitting, but fun all the same.

I exclusively play support (dem ammo points) and I'm at like 13%... I dunno man, seems kinda fishy :-)

Edit: I also just realized there's like a swear word filter on here, that's funny. I didn't even notice.

I neglected to mention my computer was attached to the ceiling fan, so technically, yes... also stuck in the ceiling fan.

I ran into this issue after not playing for a while. Uninstall PunkBuster, remove BF3 completely. Re-download. That's what ultimately fixed it. Pain in the ass, but it worked.

Literally all of us have had our fights with it and will randomly feel like failing even when its worked for months. It's a great time once you can get in and actually STAY in though.

I am definately pumped for this Friday and am glad you guys are going to be on our server :)

I will have my admin command center opened up on my other monitor while we play and can have all of us on the same team and layeth down the ban hammer for douches / make room for folks as needed.

I know the BF series has always been a great fall back for people here, but I would hate to have people aggravated they can't join us because a game they paid good money for isn't working anymore.

BF3 Expansion Packs: Back to Karkand, Close Quarters, Armored Kill, Aftermath, and End Game. Available with BF3 Premium.

Metro Conquest and Rush are both good meat grinders, Bazaar SMALL Conquest with 32 people is my favorite thing ever, rush is also very good on that map... Seine Conquest can be fun, I don't really like that map very much, much better with Rush. Damavand Rush is just awesome... I mean... base jumping. Kharg is meh, good for vehicles, same with Caspian Conquest... Caspian Rush is pretty fun, better with more people. Noshar and Tehran are ok, more vehicle maps though, ok with Rush... and Firestorm is good for vehicles.

Personally, I prefer infantry play (or stick me in the gunner seat of a helicopter)... but yeah, we have a ton of options with the stock maps.

EDIT: We can also do Squad Deathmatch, I need to win a round of that to get my L85... so we should definitely do that if we get 8 or more people.

Right now I have it set to do an air map followed by a city / smaller map as to not stack too many of either type back to back. So, it starts with Caspian, then Seine, then Firestorm, etc. and so on. Metro currently isn't in there, but Bazaar is. I can add Metro back in if folks want me to. That map is usually a real love / hate with most people it seems

I can certainly change up the maps and game modes (although I would really prefer to stay with conquest) as requested as we play if folks want to though.

We should definitely get some Rush maps in... have you played rush on Tehran? It's really fun... same w/ Caspian. They don't get played a lot but every time I've done them it's always been a really tight and fun match.

What's so bad about origin now? I have been playing BF3 for some time and never had any issues with origin. I just only have it running when I am actually playing.

I hardly even notice it. I launch battlelog before i launch origin. Origin loads and then the game loads. the only thing I have to remember is that to bring up the app's interface you press shift+f1 for origin instead of shift+tab for steam.

Additionally, I had a good time last night. It was nice to play with everyone. It was a little different atmosphere than I'm used to when I play. It was alot more casual last night. While theres absolutely nothing wrong with that, it was just different. I even played as a *gasp* sniper last night there at the end of Seine.

It goes w/ out saying that most of vG has pre-ordered BF4 and those who havent will get it quickly I'm sure. If anyone is looking for some more "serious" gameplay I suggest adding us on steam/origin/battlelog and hopping in our mumble. It tends to be a little more serious and structured but we always still have a good time!

I dont consider us to be competitive. We just happen to be pretty good as a team when we come together. I never liked the competitive scene. Seems like work. Lots and lots of memorization: spawn points, where you can burn/cap the flag from, map location names, etc.... not to mention everyone uses the lame try-hard guns. We are toying with the idea of a competitive team for BF4. I think what we really lack is an elite pilot. Would love to have one *cough* decpticon. If you're interested in joining the team hit us up!

I would love to but I don't think I will be purchasing BF4 for a while...at least until it goes on sale at some point...the funds are just not there at the moment. As far as Bf3...I would still love to play with you guys but my time is so limited that I couldn't guarantee me being able to schedule dedicated time to play competitively. Besides that...I tend to get my ass handed to me more times than not when it comes to jet piloting. Some of these people play non stop and know every little trick to getting their kills and evasion. Choppers on the other hand....I can fly with the best of them.
