A proof-of-concept code shows that malware may get really nasty in the near future.

ZoomWhile GPUs bring parallel processing and superior graphics to the PC, they can also be tools for malicious purposes.

According to a research paper entitled GPU-Assisted Malware, a team of scientists from Greece and the U.S. has developed proof-of-concept code that dumps malware components onto the GPU during the "unpacking" process of an executed malicious file, evading traditional security defenses.

......

So now we are going to have to get AV scanners for our graphics cards.

AV scanners for our graphics cards that're powered by our graphics cards.

.....not only will they be powered by our graphics cards, to unlock the TRUE potential of the AV scanner, you'll have to run the GPU in SLI! It's a plot by Nvidia and AMD, I tells ya!!!!11!!
