Getting ready for LANFest FITES 2012!

Since we are sold out I wanted to give a quick run down on happenings I have noticed that might need some clarification or consolidation.

If you are attending and have not made an http://intranet.fites.net account yet please do so and pick your seat.
If you do not choose a seat you will be assigned an empty/unreserved seat the day of the event.

For ticket transfers. Have the purchaser contact support@fites.net with the following information:
  • The original purchaser's name
  • The seat code they gave you (To confirm the seat is now yours.)
  • The username of the account they created on http://intranet.fites.net (So the account can be removed and you can create a new one.)
Please ask the person to send you the PDF of your ticket as this will help speed up check in. If you do not have a ticket or a code and we cannot look you up in some manner we will be unable to allow you into the event.
No admittance to the event for unpaid/unticketed people.

If you have any questions feel free to reply to this thread or create one in the support forum. If there is something you think is important that should be in this list that I missed you can also reply and tell me here.

Okay, so I suppose this can be used as an example for those who're wondering in case they did this as well. I bought 5 seats. They're labeled vincegun, vincegun2, etc. I'm using two of them and the remaining 3 are for the people that're coming with me (maelor, aldius and my girlfriend). Do they need to make accounts or should they just refer to themselves as vincegun2, 3 and so on at the door? I dunno if any of them will want to tourney this year, we're just coming to game and have a good time.

Before you shutdown your PC and head for the LAN this weekend, it would be a good idea to:

*  Unshare anything you don't want to be shared.
*  Disable any media streaming services for the same reason.
*  Make sure you have a good password on any active accounts, including the Administrator account (if you have it active).
*  Update all windows security updates.
*  Update your anti-virus.
*  Update your firewall and have it enabled.
*  Update all your games, including booting up Steam and letting it auto-update everything.

For anyone curious, here is the total Internet System Throughput so far. 863.75 GB of transfer....in less than 24 hours. Looks like we'll be shattering the 1TB mark!
