FITES Launches a PC Gaming and Community related web show
« on: June 10, 2014, 07:51:47 AM »
My fellow FITES faithful, I bring to you the ugliest possible visage we could place in front of a camera.

FITESCast - Episode 1

FITESCast will be a (hopefully) regularly appearing show in which we talk about the latest PC gaming news, LAN related topics, and what is going on in the community. I plan on changing it up and getting it a little more interesting as I manage to speed up my work flow on the project.

Of course, I wouldn't just make an announcement like this without trying to involve you, our ever loving community! You  can absolutely help us with this show, and, in turn, help your self! We need your help in liking the video, making comments on the video, SHARING it is huge, and subscribing to the channel would be awesome! Let us know what content you would like to see. Do you know someone that wants to be part of an interview? Let's make that happen.

How does this help you? Well, it would be great to one day use this channel to do product reviews, but companies will want to know that we reach a large user base before sending us stuff all willy nilly. Those companies that want us to do product reviews can become sponsors at the next big LAN event opening the door to more prizes, and better prizes.

It call also help FITES grow as an organization. Playing with 250 is great, but playing with 350...500? Even better. With your help we can make it happen. So if you like the video be sure to hit the thumbs up. Comment with what you would like to see in the future. Share it with your friends and spread the love.

I'll see you in the next episode!

Good luck w/ this, dude.  eXtravision was a pain in the ass after a while we all kind of lost interest in putting in the effort to put it together.  I think a lot of that had to do w/ over complicating it and having to produce pre-rendered green screen stuff every week.  Hopefully you can keep it simple and easy to produce and keep rolling.

The good news so far is it that it's all a one man show. I have a quick enough work flow down to produce it fast, but I need help with finding the content. So that's where guest interviews and comments on what to talk about come in.

I plan on keeping it simple and straight forward. As much as I want to do product reviews, those are the things that will take the most time. Ultimately though, you bring up a good point. Simpler is better.

Good first episode.

As someone who has produced training videos for work I know how hard just the act of speaking can be while being recorded.  Adding video into the mix would have to make it 10x harder.  Typically people say "uhhhhh" or "ummmm" every 5th word before they get used to speaking.  Thats a pet peeve of mine.  You didnt do this at all.  However I did feel like I had to bob and weave to miss your hands flying out of my computer screen every couple seconds.  Not sure if that was intentional or not.

As far as content.  Theres plenty of constantly new conetent.  I know you guys are redditors (cuz czar stole my sweet sweet karma with the commander station), but you can get almost all of your ideas there, at the very least the topics of whats hot that particular week.  For instance, GTA V coming to PC in October seems to be the big news right now.

Anyway good video 10/10 would bang again.

Wouldn't hurt to really focus the content... maybe focus on games with LAN features and LAN news.  That's a niche that isn't really being served by any large media outlets.  Could catch on.

This is definitely a great start to FITESCast!  I agree with duder about the LAN content niche.

Thanks for the tips, everyone. I'll be sure to incorporate some of this into the next episode. I'm already working on writing one up and will have it delivered next week.
