Dual Screen laptop? Methinks yes!
« on: August 28, 2009, 02:52:30 PM »
This is right up my alley:

Quote
For those of us who transition between a multi-monitor setup on our desktops
and have to go back to just one display on a laptop, gScreen might be the answer.

Alaska-based gScreen Corp. is designing a laptop with two 15.4-inch screens built in. While a laptop with two screens isn't a completely new idea, as Lenovo has already executed the idea, this one from gScreen does so with two full sized displays that slide out side by side.

So by the time laptops are similar to my tri-screen setup, I should be running 9 screens on one video card?

It is portable.  It's a laptop.  The screens slide out so you can use either one or two screens.

Yeah ... I see that but it also seems like more moving parts that can break.

Well, what does having moving parts have to do with it being portable?

You did.
It's cute but at what point is a laptop no long portable?

Then I said
It is portable.  It's a laptop.  The screens slide out so you can use either one or two screens.

Then you said:
Yeah ... I see that but it also seems like more moving parts that can break.

Just didn't relate to it's portability.

Well, if you SAW that it was portable, why did you say it was no longer portable?  That was the point of my....retort.  Forget it, drop it.

No I didn't SEE anything.  Once you "unfold" it, it's no longer portable.  I "appears" to me that it is not "as easy" to carry around like a "normal"(finger quotes) unfolded laptop...AND...the extra moving parts create an extra point of failure(wear and tare).

Why would anyone carry around an unfolded laptop? All unfolded laptops aren't really portable. That's why you fold it back up...  :headscratch: I still don't see what you're getting at.

If you are going a short distance and don't want it go to sleep, you would.

Now, I'm done.
