If you haven't checked the price of the latest graphics cards, then perhaps it is time to do so. Nvidia's most recent graphics card release, the 980, is definitely the front runner for gamer applications. The Titan Black and Titan Z are in a league of their own, something I detailed in our
first ever episode of FITESCast (more coming soon, I swear).
Even though the 980 is the front runner, that is title that is
held by a thread. Especially considering the 290X has been shown to have better 4K performance, and is on par with the streaming capabilities of Nvidia. But now the price drop from AMD manufacturers that has brought the
price as low $340 makes the dollar to performance ratio very appealing for AMD users. Compare that to the price of a new Nvidia 980 weighing in at a
starting price of $550.Overclockers will of course, and should, remain with their Nvidia cards, especially the 980 with it's easily done overclocking. The average user, however, may find that price point appealing and consider an AMD upgrade.
