I think this would be a great lan to try out some of the new games coming out before the lan.

Star Wars Battlefront
Call Of Duty 2
FEAR
QUAKE 4

Also can we please set the Battlefield 2 time to 11 or 12 PM. This game is great but requires everyone to play to make it good and waiting until 4am kills the point of playing BF 2.

Yes I agree,  I was actually hoping for an even earlier time frame.  Like 8PM.  especially since we're kicking this thing off at 10am.

Yeah, Star Wars Battlefront has some mad fun multiplayer action along with Quake 4. I think we should definitly try to do other games rather than doing BF2 for 8 hours straight. Lets actually get some Unreal 2k4 this time, since last time I was jipped on my unreal game time (only 6 people around when we launched @ 3:00)

Good Suggestions. Thanks for making the post

I will be working Dave/Billabond on a game schedule.  It will be posted about 1 week before the LAN.

One of the hardest parts of running a lan is finding the perfect balance between keeping those who own the games happy and keeping those who don't involved.

If only 14 out of 50 people own Quake 4... either 14 people are playing and 36 are not, or you spend 2 hours getting those 36 up and running on "unlicensed" versions.

Either way, there is a big downtime involved.

That said... chosing game that 40 out of 50 have is the smarter way to go.  Everyone is involved with little downtime.

That is why choosing games is so difficult at a lan, and going to new games is so hard...

See how long it took us to get BF2 involved?

I understand what u mean. One wild suggestion I could throw out (not sure if it would work or not) would be to set some time aside for individual gameplay. Pretty weak idea and tough to cordinate, I'm sure. I was just giving it a little thought. Maybe while there isn't any tourn. going on or anything some group of guys could jump into other games. I don't know...just a idea, but you gotta start somewhere (people could always upgrade to better more update games too :-)

I also realize that you are able to make other games, but no one wants to miss out on BF2 action...Do you know if we're gonna do cs source again? I mean, last time I checked, almost everyone had to go and get "unlicensed" versions of that. I also remember people screaming to get BF2 going after an hour of CS (people got sick of it quick) So the bottom line is that its tough to have everyone happy...I understand that much. On a brighter note, I'm thrilled that we're maxed out for this thing. It'll be a lot of fun. I hope that everyone doesn't pass out like last time though.

the nice thing about having at least 50 people at a lan is yea they can do a CS:S tournement and still have enough people to play one of the battlefield games at the same time.  We've actually had more people then 50 interested in this LAN.  I think down the road these york lans are gonna be in the 60 people range.  But i can't wait for this lan.

wish you could make it pride!

I think for the people who want CS:S we are only going to play the latest greatest version. No more of that hokey crap!

I'm SPECIAL... (VIP Access oh yeah) Truth be told, I signed up and got everything taken care of without even flinching. ICan't wait for this 100 man to come up. In the mean time, i'm just hoping everyone doesn't bail out and go to sleep like last lan. Just to let you know Pride, I know I'll have all 14 of my guys there for this one. I've already gotten responses from 9 who are interested. So you can count on filling this think up to the top. Should be a hell of a time.
